Royal Challengers Bangalore are one of the very few teams that are yet to showcase their mettle in terms of winning the IPL title since the inception of the cash-rich Indian Premier League.
They are the only team that failed to win the IPL title even after making it to the IPL final on three occasions. RCB lost the IPL final in the 2009, 2011 and 2016 seasons respectively.
Royal Challengers Bangalore got a new captain in the previous edition of the IPL. Faf du Plessis led the team from the front and guided the team to the playoffs of the competition by finishing fourth on the table.
As it turned out, they even got the better of Lucknow Super Giants in the Eliminator and knocked the Ahmedabad-based franchise out of the competition. However, RCB failed to beat Rajasthan Royals in the second qualifier of IPL 2023.
Harshal Patel joins Royal Challengers Bangalore ahead of IPL 2023
Meanwhile, Harshal Patel has joined RCB ahead of the upcoming edition of the IPL. Royal Challengers Bangalore largely benefitted from the services of the right-arm paceman in the last season.
Harshal Patel finished the previous season as the third-leading wicket-taker with 18 wickets to his name. He will be looking forward to weaving the magic with the ball in the upcoming season of the IPL for Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Harshal Patel has a plethora of experience in the Indian Premier League. Having played 78 games in the IPL, he has accounted for 97 dismissals to his name, registering his personal best bowling figures of 5/27.
Notably, he took 2 four-wicket hauls and one fifer to his name. He has maintained an economy of 8.39 including two maiden overs. It remains to be seen how Harshal Patel approaches the upcoming season of the IPL. He will be sweating it out in the nets such that he can pull a barrage of tricks off his sleeve in the next season.
