Andre Russell discloses his superstitions

Andre Russell is one of the most complete all-rounders in T20 cricket. The Caribbean star can whack big shots, pick up wickets with his pace bowling and also control the runs with his brilliant fielding.

Superstitions in cricket are not new. Almost every cricketer, including some legends like Sachin Tendulkar, have had superstitions in the sport. On the latest episode of Knight Club, Kolkata Knight Riders all-rounder Andre Russell revealed his two superstitions.

The West Indian star revealed that he always entered the field with his left leg. Next, he added that he always tapped the bat four times before the bowler delivered the ball. These are the two superstitions of Andre Russell.

β€œYeah of course. Every player has superstitions. Some are over the moon, while some are simpler. My superstition would be making sure that my left leg goes over the rope (first) before I enter the field. I tap my bat four times before the bowler approaches me. If I don’t do that, I feel that I am not going to do well when that ball is bowled,” Russell said.

Andre Russell has performed well for the Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2021

Andre Russell has been an integral part of the Kolkata Knight Riders team for quite some time. The West Indian player has played four matches in IPL 2021, scalping seven wickets and scoring 99 runs with the willow.

He scored a game-changing fifty against the Chennai Super Kings at Wankhede Stadium. That half-century turned the game in KKR’s favor, and Pat Cummins‘ unbeaten fifty almost sealed the deal for them. However, the Super Kings did not allow to sneak away with the win.

Andre Russell will be in action this Saturday when the Kolkata Knight Riders take on the Rajasthan Royals. Russell will be keen to end his franchise’s losing streak in IPL 2021.
