“Babar Is Way…Ahead” : Pakistan Opener Imam-ul-Haq Put Babar Azam Over Virat Kohli

Babar Azam is currently going through a purple patch of his international cricket career which is the sole reason why ample experts from the cricket fraternity but his persona ahead of the Indian great, Virat Kohli. In the current scenario, Babar Azam broke the fresh record of Virat Kohli in the context of consecutive one-day international centuries. On the same occasion, the current Pakistan opener Imam-ul-haq has also made a steep comparison between this to modern-day legends. 

   After the turnback of  Sarfaraz Ahmed, Babar Azam was appointed as the new skipper of the team from there his batting career is actually getting to Newer heights every day. Recently the Indian legend Sunil Gavaskar has also praised the likes of Baba Azam and the consistency with which he is flourishing in the formats of one-day and T20 International Cricket. 

    The only format of cricket where he seems to be lower than Virat Kohli is test cricket, Babar only has 6 centuries in the test format whereas Virat Kohli is ahead of him with 27 centuries written before his name. The Pakistan opener Imam Ul Haq talked about it in his recent interview, he said, “Virat Kohli is a legend and there’s no doubt about that. If someone has played 240 plus matches and someone 80, then you can’t compare them,” Imam said in a string of interviews on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha.

   “If you compare their careers right now, then Babar is way…ahead, but as my best friend and captain of Pakistan, I want him to break plenty of Kohli’s records”. Further, he added, “But right now, I can’t understand the comparisons. One has more than 10,000 runs. and Yes, at the end of their careers, I want Babar to score 3 to 4 thousand runs more than Kohli in every format”.
