“All that talk for what?” – Twitterati reacts after Jaydev Unadkat is yet to receive the Visa paper and is not available for the first Test

Jaydev Unadkat hogged the limelight recently after he steered the Saurashtra cricket team to the finals of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2022. Under his captaincy, Saurashtra not only made it to the finals but went on to win it.

Saurashtra defeated Maharashtra in the final to win the title and Jaydev Unadkat drew plaudits for his captaincy and bowling. Rightly so, Jaydev Unadkat earned a surprise call-up to the Indian Test team.

In fact, Unadkat has played only one Test match for India in his cricketing career where he made his Test debut against South Africa in 2010 and since then, he didn’t get a handful of opportunities to play for India.

After he received a Test call-up to represent the Indian cricket team, everyone expected the team management to select him for the first Test match against Bangladesh which is scheduled to be played tomorrow at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram.

Meanwhile, in the latest development, Jaydev Unadkat is yet to receive the Visa paper and hence he is not available for the first Test match against Bangladesh according to a report in Cricbuzz.

Netizens couldn’t stop reacting to this news as they expressed their frustration on social media portals. The Saurashtra captain is yet to open his account for India with regards to Test cricket.

On the other hand, he has represented the team in seven One Day Internationals, bagging eight wickets to his name, and registering his personal best bowling figures of 4/41.

The Porbandar-born has played 10 games in Twenty20 Internationals wherein he has bagged 14 wickets to his name at an economy of 8.68. On the contrary, he has played 91 games in the cash-rich IPL.

Overall, he has accounted for 91 dismissals, bowling three maiden overs and accounted for two fifers to his name.
