‘Finally a 100 for David Warner after nearly three years!’ – Twitter reacts as David Warner scores a century against England to end his century drought

England’s tour of Australia comprises three T20Is and as many One-Day Internationals. The three-match T20I series was played before the ICC Men’s Twenty20 World Cup 2022 in Australia.

The Three Lions totally enjoyed playing the shortest format of the game against the Aussies as they won the first two games and won the series by 2-0. The third and final game ended as no result due to rain.

After the conclusion of the ICC T20 World Cup, the ODI series between Australia and England kick-started. The hosts drew first blood in the series at Adelaide Oval in Adelaide as they won the game by 6 wickets.

Pat Cummins and Co went on to win the second ODI at Sydney Cricket Ground, Sydney and won the game by 72 runs and won the series by 2-0. The third and final game is currently being held at Melbourne Cricket Ground, Melbourne.

David Warner scores a century after almost three years

Australia’s veteran opening batter David Warner has been in sumptuous form in the ODI series. He top-scored for the hosts with 86 off 84 balls including 10 fours and a six during the ODI series opener.

During the third ODI, he went on to score an impeccable century as he ended his century drought after nearly three years. Earlier, England skipper Jos Buttler won the toss and opted to bowl first.

David Warner and Travis Head got off to a rollicking start to the game. The duo added a record 269-run opening partnership before Head departed for 152 (16 fours, 4 sixes). On the other hand, Warner went on to score his 19th ODI century after over 1000 days.
