Young South African prodigy, Dewald Brevis was in sensational form today in the CSA T20 Challenge. The right-hander smashed 13 fours and 13 sixes for the Titans. He went on to score 162 runs off 57 balls in the match.Â
The Titans lost the coin toss. They were invited to bat first. Due to Brevis’s innings, the Titans went on to register a huge score of 271 runs in 20 overs after losing just three wickets.
Brevis, was quite aggressive right from the outset, hitting balls right from the start. Due in large part to Brevis’s ferocity at the crease, the Titans were able to pile up 63 runs in the powerplay itself.
After facing just 35 balls in total, Brevis was able to achieve his first Twenty20 century. After reaching the three-figure mark, the Young Turk raised the stakes and humiliated the other bowlers by significantly improving his score.
Brevis jumped on the scene after his performances in the U-19 World Cup 2022. The way he played his shots were reminiscent of the legendary South African batter AB de Villiers. He was also nicknamed the ‘Baby AB’. Ahead of the IPL 2022, Mumbai Indians bought this promising kid. He also played some fine innings with the bat for Mumbai Indians at number 3.
The way Brevis played his innings at Senwes Park in Potchefstroom is sure to delight all the Mumbai Indians fans. They will hope that Kid brings out his brutal best in the IPL next year. The franchise had a torrid year in this year’s IPL. So, Rohit Sharma’s men will take heart from his innings in the CA R20 Challenge.
