“I think it’s better to use him as our 3rd bowler on some days”, Twitter reacts as Zaheer Khan says that India should use Umran Malik as a wicket-taker

In response to the growing expectations of cricket spectators, India’s first ODI against New Zealand was played in Auckland on Friday, where young pacer Umran Malik made his international ODI debut. Due to injuries to key players, the Jammu speedster and fellow rookie Arshdeep Singh were given the opportunity to open the Indian bowling attack. Even though India lost by 7 wickets and the hosts took a 1-0 series lead, Umran made an impression with his incredible speed and helped set the tone for a thrilling match.

Even in his first over, the right-arm quick was consistently clocking in at over 145 kph, making light of the speed gun. Umran took two wickets while most of the Indian bowlers took none in ten overs. During his incredible run, the guy reached a top speed of 153.1 kph.

Zaheer Khan, a former India pacer and World Cup champion, has spoken highly of Umran. Zaheer, who was interviewed for a show on Amazon Prime Video, advised the Jammu pacer to trust his abilities and bowl as quickly as possible.

Zaheer Khan feels that India should use Umran Malik as a wicket-taker even though he will leak runs on some days.

Zaheer Khan said, “Umran Malik should be looked at as a wicket taker. He’ll leak runs in the process, but you have got to take it in your stride and just back him to be free”.

In the first match, Kane Williamson and Tom Latham put together an unbeaten 221-run stand for the fourth wicket, which ultimately proved to be the difference between the two teams. Latham scored 145 runs not out off 104 balls to lead the team, and Williamson added 94 runs not out.

The second one-day international (ODI) will take place on Sunday, so both teams will be relocating to Hamilton for the match.
