In an interview with AFP News Agency, former cricketer AB De Villiers has come out and spoke in favor of Virat Kohli. He believes Virat will overcome the bad form very soon.
AB De Villiers and Virat Kohli had a great bond on and off the field during their time at Royal Challengers Bangalore. However, after IPL 2021, the South African cricketer decided to hang up his boots.
Virat Kohli has been going through one of the worst phases of his cricketing career. In the ongoing IPL season, Kohli has scored just 186 runs in 10 matches. The average has dropped down to just below 21.
Although the pair have not spoken during the IPL 2022, ABD believes that VK is just a couple of good knocks away from regaining his form. Moreover, Kohli ended his poor run-of scores with a fifty (58 runs off 53 balls) against Gujarat Titans. Unfortunately for the fans, it ended in a losing cause.
ABD also stated that one does not become a bad player overnight. He added that your mental stability and thought process has a lot to do with your batting performances on the pitch.
“A clear mind and fresh energy will help you come out of the hole,” De Villiers said.
Virat Kohli faces CSK in the hope of turning the tables around
Having breached the fifty-run mark against the table-toppers, King Kohli will be looking forward to the match against CSK as an opportunity to build on the form.
A mouthwatering clash between the favorite sons of the soil is on the cards, on the 4th of May. It is a must-win encounter for RCB to keep their hopes of making it to the knockout stages alive.
The Royal Challengers Bangalore face the Chennai Super Kings on the back of a 3-match losing streak. Meanwhile, the return of Thala Dhoni as captain saw the Yellow Army pick up two points against the in-form Sunrisers Hyderabad.
