The 14th edition of the Indian Premier League took a significant U-turn yesterday. All the remaining matches of the season were postponed immediately. The major reason behind this was the safety concern as various players started testing positive for the coronavirus. A teammate of David Warner – Wriddhiman Saha also tested positive.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is now considering the backup plan for this. The management is eyeing the September window to complete the remaining matches of the season. As of now, all the players have been requested to go home.
This decision might be a tough one for the Australian cricketers. Since Australia has imposed a traveling ban in their country, the cricketers can’t go home. As a result, several stars like David Warner, Steve Smith, and others might stay in India. Till then, they will be spending the rest of their time in their respective hotel rooms.

IPL 2021 has been a tough one for David Warner
The 14th edition proved to be a tough one for David Warner. Under his captaincy, the SRH side just managed to win 1 out of 6 games. However, referring to his batting performances, this season has been a mediocre one for him so far. The cricketer has managed to score 193 runs from 6 matches with the highest score of 57 runs.
Kane Williamson is the guy who has been handed the captaincy of the side after Warner. It would be exciting to see how SRH performs under their new leader when the season resumes. Currently, they are holding the last position on the points table.
