What did Travis Head say?

When asked by media in New Delhi about being benched during the first Test, Head explained what happened.

He said: “It was something I didn’t expect when I came here, but that does happen sometimes. I thought it was nice to get the next chance because I was able to get through that week and get ready for another chance. Now it’s up to us to make the most of that.”

“The discussions were lively. Everyone has their own ideas. I have a great relationship with the coaching staff and the people who choose who plays. I think that’s why the conversations went the way they did, because there was mutual respect and we could say what we thought. When I woke up the next day, I was still on tour playing for Australia, which means I still get to do what I love. I’d love to be able to compete and play, but there’s another way I can help the guys as much as I can and get ready for another chance. Still, I think I’m in a good place. It’s just one week where things didn’t go my way,” he said.
