“Batting Gets A Big Boost”- Harbhajan Singh Thinks India Missed A Trick By Not Picking Hardik Pandya For The England Test

Former Indian cricket team off-spin bowler Harbhajan Singh has opined that the selectors probably missed a trick by not considering Hardik Pandya for the upcoming ICC World Test Championship match against the England cricket team. Harbhajan feels that the Indian batting department would have received a massive boost if someone like Hardik was available.

Hardik Pandya has not played red-ball cricket for quite some time. He was in the Indian squad for the 2018 England tour and even took a five-wicket haul with the ball, but ever since he got injured, he has majorly played white-ball cricket only.

Pandya has been bowling well in white-ball matches this year. He took a lengthy break from the sport and returned in IPL 2022, leading the Gujarat Titans to the championship. In a chat with Sportskeeda ahead of the match against England, Harbhajan Singh said:

“I feel India should have included Hardik Pandya. It’s only one match and seamers are expected to do well in England. Yes, Shardul Thakur has done a good job but if Hardik Pandya is there in the team, it would be really good. The batting then gets a big boost and the bowling department also gets some cover.”

Hardik Pandya is in London right now

Hardik Pandya recently traveled to Ireland to captain the Indian cricket team in their T20I series against the Irish team. The Gujarat Titans star led the team to a 2-0 series win in Dublin. Earlier today, he posted a story on his Instagram account, informing fans that he is in London right now.

The cricket universe should note that the Indian cricket team will play three ODIs and three T20Is against the England cricket team after the ICC World Test Championship match. So, it is likely that Hardik will be a part of those squads and he has reached early.
