“Kohli batting at the position which suits him best”, Twitter reacts as Mike Hesson said that Virat Kohli and Faf Du Plessis likely to open the batting for RCB in IPL 2023

Royal Challengers Bangalore’s Director of Cricket operations Mike Hesson has recently revealed some very interesting information about their upcoming campaign, i.e, the IPL 2023 season. The former New Zealand head coach has been one of the integral parts of the RCB coaching staff from quite some time now and it is he who takes all the important cricketing decisions about the franchise. Mike Hesson has said that Virat Kohli might open with Faf Du Plessis in IPL 2023 and that has really given fans a ray of hope.

Virat Kohli’s batting order in T20 cricket, especially in the Indian Premier League has been a debatable topic for quite some time now. Many argue that the batsman could do better as an opener while some think that he is better off as a middle order batsman. The veteran player has himself said on several occasions that he likes to open and he thus takes the gamble of opening innings often in the Indian Premier League. He has been pretty successful as an opener in the Indian Premier League so far.

Royal Challengers Bangalore are lacking a proper opener after the departure of Devdutt Padikkal and it is high time that the two main players of RCB step up on this occasion.

Virat Kohli is finally back in form and this gives a sense of security to the RCB fans. He was by far the best performer in the T20 World Cup 2022 and he was the highest run scorer in that event. We are thus optimistic that we might get to see the old prime Virat Kohli again in IPL 2023.

RCB have a pretty strong squad in IPL 2023 and if Virat Kohli and Faf Du Plessis give their best performances respectively throughout the season, they might as well end up picking their first IPL trophy this season.
