“Asif and Haider Ali to open innings in third test who says no?”, Twitter reacts as Ramiz Raza said that he advised Babar Azam to pick T20 players in Test cricket against England

On day one of the second Test between Pakistan and England, England had a narrow advantage against Pakistan. But on day two, Pakistan was absolutely overmatched. The 91-run third-wicket partnership was broken when Robinson went through Babar’s defences. In the end, Pakistan was unable to come back and only managed to score 60 runs after losing their last 8 wickets. Even though Leach took four wickets and was the best bowler, the other guys held their own.

In the second session, England took their sweet time and didn’t rush things. Duckett scored his second fifty of the game, while Brook kept up his stellar performance on the road. The next two wickets were run outs, but Abrar Ahmed took care of business on his own again as he became just the second Pakistani bowler to take up a 10-wicket haul on debut. England is in a commanding position. They have a lead of 281 and seem poised to win the series.

England under their new Head Coach, Brendon McCullum, and new test captain, Ben stokes have started to play in a different way in test cricket. They try to take on the bowlers and play at the same rate in Tests as limited-overs cricket, no matter what the conditions are.

Pakistan faced that in the first test at Rawalpindi. Now, PCB chairman, Ramiz Raza made an important statement. He said that he advised Babar Azam to pick T20-suited players in the test team in this series, as England is playing T20 cricket in test matches. He also feels that it is a force mindset.

Ramiz Raja (in Sky Sports) said “I suggested to Babar Azam that England are playing T20 format in 5-day version so you better pick T20 players here, it’s a force mindset but I like it”.
