There’s no brainer that skipper Shikhar Dhawan will open the innings for India. With Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill in the mix, the question remains who will be his batting partner. However, Gill will likely bat at the top considering his last few outings for the team.

Shreyas Iyer is most certain to bat at No.3 as in the absence of big names he has grabbed that spot. Sanju Samson is likely to bat at No.4 and don the keeping gloves for his side in the first ODI against South Africa in Lucknow.
Rajat Patidar and Shahbaz Ahmed are expected to be the two debutants for India in the first ODI against South Africa. They are likely to bat at No.5 and No.6 for their side and play the finishing role.
Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar and Mohammed Siraj are expected to be the three pacers in the side. Whereas Kuldeep Yadav and Ravi Bishnoi will be the two leg-spinners in the side.
