Coaching is the most important element of an IPL franchise which actually helps the team in building/winning the matches and ultimately the tournament. It will play a more important part in IPL 2023 as the teams won’t be allowed to revamp their core group. Without a coach a team can never get to the trophy or its player can never perform better which ultimately reduces the extension of a franchise into the business of the Indian Premier League.
In this season of IPL, many teams have gone wrong with their coaches as they couldn’t capitalize on the sources which were provided to them after the mega auction of IPL 2022. The franchises like Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians, and Sunrisers Hyderabad have good coaching staff which consistently helps the team in performing better. Thus beneath are a few sides that could think about the designation of a new coach in the season of IPL 2023.
1. Brendon McCullum (KKR).
In the list the first guy is a kiwi great batter Brendon McCullum who is leaving the side of KKR as a head coach and the team will have to look out for a new man for the position of a helm. McCullum has served as a head coach of Kolkata Knight Riders since the year 2018 after the departure of South African all-rounder Jacques Kallis. The CEO Venky Mysore has a great hand in bringing in the kiwi legend as their head coach and now he has to look out for the new man for the season of IPL 2023.
2. Anil Kumble (PBKS).
The Indian leggie Legend has very few days left on the side of Punjab Kings as the team is consistently facing failures even for the qualification of players from the last couple of IPL seasons. The team was qualified for the players in the season of IPL 2018 till then it even couldn’t get to the fifth position after the completion of the league phase. The Punjab Kings have two challenges before them they have to seriously think about the position of leadership and then they have two think over the position of head coach also for IPL 2023.
3. Tom Moody (SRH).
An Australian cricketer who actually made his career in the field of coaching instead of professional cricket playing. Tom Moody has the likes of Kane Williamson and David Warner as the two skippers who have led the team under his era of coaching. No doubt he has helped the team of Sunrisers Hyderabad in clinching the title of IPL 2016 and the team has got to the finals of IPL 2018 but he has heated the failures on the mark till the last couple of seasons of Indian Premier League. So he may also have the chance of dismissal for the edition of IPL 2023.
4. Ricky Ponting (DC).
Another Australian on the list of fragile coaching who may have to leave the position due to the hitting of consistent failures in the last couple of seasons. Ponting usually has a good relationship with the team management and also with the Skipper Rishabh pant but due to the immature short making in the last game of Delhi capitals, Ricky Ponting has directly targeted him for the failure. In IPL 2023 the team owners and think tank might have to retrospect on his future prospect as a head coach of the side.
