3 players who toured India in 2012 and will also play Tests against India in 2024

England will take on India in a five-match Test series, that starts soon. While England has tasted defeated recently, back in 2012, they actually did well. In fact, they had won the series back then. However, the team has changed a lot in the last few years. Nevertheless, we still have some players who are part of the current squad, as well. Here, we take a look at three players who toured India in 2012 and will also play Tests against India in 2024.

1) Jonny Bairstow

It was in Tests that Bairstow first gained popularity. He was good behind the stumps and also delivered with the bat often. As a teenager, he had done well and hence, he got an early chance.

Bairstow did play in that series and helped England in the historic win. The expectation is that he will do the same in 2024, as well.

2) Joe Root

Joe Root has been with the England Test Team for a long time now. He had an early debut and India was one of the first nations that he had toured.

At the moment, he is one of the best Test batters in the game. When England toured India the last time, he was the pick of the batters and also did well with the ball. The onus will be on him to do well against India in 2024. He is a top player of spin and will look to tackle the likes of R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja.

3) James Anderson

James Anderson is one of the players who toured India in 2012 and will also play Tests against India in 2024. He is way beyond 40 and James Anderson is still very much active in the sport.

He had a crucial role to play in 2012. This time around, in the absence of Stuart Broad, Anderson will have more responsibility to lead the pace attack.
