3 Delhi Capitals players who might not get a chance to play in IPL 2023

DC finished fifth on points table.

Delhi Capitals had a dismissal outing in the IPL 2022 as after qualifying for three consecutive years, they failed to reach the playoffs. They ended the season fifth on the points table and they would be hoping to break the shackles and clinch their maiden title in IPL 2023.

3 Delhi Capitals players who might not get a chance to play in IPL 2023

Delhi Capitals had a decent auction ahead of the IPL 2023.  They brought in the likes of Phil Salt, Ishant Sharma, Manish Pandey, Mukesh Kumar, and Rilee Rossouw to strengthen their team and it’s fair to say that with lots is talent around, there might be few unlucky players who might not get a chance to play. Let’s take a look at 3 Delhi Capitals players who might not get a chance to play in IPL 2023.

Rillie Rossouw

Rillie Rossouw was acquired by Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2023 auction. The Proteas batter of late has gained a lot of limelight for his heroics and has been a consistent scorer for both his franchises and South Africa as well. The veteran of 284 T20 games could well warm the bench for the whole season in IPL 2023 because of the team combination. David Warner, Mitchell Marsh, Rovman Powell and Anrich Nortje are expected to be the frontline four overseas players in the lineup and it is likely that Rossouw might be in the pecking order even behind Phil Salt.

Yash Dhull

Yash Dhull could be another player who might not get a chance to play in IPL 2023. With Rishabh Pant getting ruled out of the tournament, DC might opt to play experienced Manish Pandey and Sarfaraz Khan in the middle. Dhull might have to wait for one more season to make his debut in the IPL due to the team combination. The young player has been playing decently well in the domestic circuit and is scoring runs consistently.

Chetan Sakariya

Left-arm pacer Chetan Sakariya might also not get a chance to play in IPL 2023. He got limited opportunities in the IPL 2022 but wasn’t quite up to the mark. With DC having experienced attack, the young pacer might have to warm the bench for the whole season. It’s fair to say that he falls last in the pecking order of the team, which have the likes of Ishant Sharma, Khaleel Ahmed, Lungi Ngidi, Anrich Nortje and Mustafizur Rahman.
