The southpaw has played more than 420 balls in the ongoing fourth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against India in Ahmedabad and has made Indian bowlers toil hard for his wicket. GN Yallop – 392 balls 

Former Australian cricket Graham Yallop is also among the Australian players who have played the most balls in Test innings in India. The left-hander batted for 392 balls in the Kolkata Test against India in 1979. The southpaw scored 167 runs and batted for 520 minutes to put his side in a staggering position. He smashed 15 fours in his innings.

Steve Smith – 361 balls 

Australian batter Steve Smith is arguably one of the best Test batters going around in the world of cricket. The right-hander has played some spectacular knocks over the years and has many times bailed his side out of trouble. He has played some sensational knocks in India and is in the list of players who have played the most balls in Test innings in India. He played 361 balls in his knock of unbeaten 178 runs in Ranchi in 2017. He batted for 512 minutes and bailed his side out of trouble. Smith scored 17 fours in his innings and was the lone warrior for his side.
