3 all-rounders who could get a chance to captain in IPL 2024

When it comes to captaincy, it is usually the batters who get to do the job. However, in the past, we have also seen some bowlers and all-rounders get this opportunity. A few all-rounders could also don the role of a skipper in IPL 2024. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three all-rounders who could get a chance to captain in IPL 2024.

Note: We have not considered Hardik Pandya, who has already been confirmed as the captain of Mumbai Indians.

1) Mitchell Marsh

It would not be a surprise if Rishabh Pant might have to miss a few games due to injury in IPL 2024. He is slowly recovering from the fatal accident and it is absolutely normal to take adequate rest in between games.

While David Warner is the obvious choice to lead in the absence of Pant, Marsh can also be a top contender. Especially considering the future of the franchise, it is better if Marsh is readied for this role.

2) Sam Curran

Sam Curran was the skipper of the Punjab Kings when Shikhar Dhawan was absent last season. The trend could continue in IPL 2024, as well.

PBKS needs to keep an eye on the future. Hence, grooming Sam Curran as the future skipper would be the ideal step for the franchise.

3) Ravindra Jadeja

Ravindra Jadeja is one of the all-rounders who could get a chance to captain in IPL 2024. Yes, Ravindra Jadeja might have had a failed stint as an IPL captain but he has learnt a lot from that experience. Hence, if MS Dhoni has to sit out a few games due to injury, Jaddu could take over the duties.

Recently, Jadeja was the vice-captain of Team India, as well. Hence, no one has actually given up on him as captaincy material. Also, it would be better for CSK to have Jaddu in the transition period than giving Ruturaj Gaikwad the task straight away.
