Pakistan’s fast bowling sensation Haris Rauf has made waves with his stupendous bowling spells for the national cricket team for quite a while now. The right-arm paceman played an important role in the showpiece event in Australia.
He accounted for eight dismissals throughout the event. The 29-year-old Rawalpindi-born cricketer has represented the national cricket team in 15 ODIs and 57 T20Is so far in his cricketing career.
Haris Rauf has gained formidable experience in the shortest format of the game. He has been statistically pretty impressive with the ball, taking 72 wickets in Twenty20 Internationals, registering his personal best bowling figures of 4/22.
On the other hand, he has bagged 29 wickets to his name in One-Day Internationals at an economy of 5.79 including 2 four-wicket hauls to his name, registering his personal best bowling figures of 4/65.

First of all, the right-arm fast bowler shot to fame after his stellar spree for the Melbourne Stars in the 2019-20 edition of the Big Bash League. He announced his arrival in Australia’s premier T20 competition by taking 20 wickets in 10 innings.
During the spell, he was called by the Indian cricket team to work as a net bowler at a time when Team India was set to tour Australia. In a recent interview with Cricwick, the fast bowler recalled the days when he trained with the Indian cricket team.
Moreover, he also spoke about his candid conversation with the former Team India’s head coach Ravi Shastri. The fast bowler added that whenever he met Ravi Shastri, the latter often reminds him of how he was a net bowler once and now that he has so much popularity.
He further added that Ravi Shastri literally knows where Haris Rauf came from and that he is quite happy to see him grow as a bowler. From working as a net bowler with the Indian cricket team to becoming one of the top pacers for Pakistan in T20 cricket, Haris Rauf has come a long way to taste the glory.
“Aksar unse (Ravi Shastri) mulakat hoti hai, wo kehte hai ‘yaar ek net bowler jaise tum hamare paas aye they…aur jis tarah tum world me bowling kar rahey ho tumhara ek naam hai. Jab hum tumko dekhte hai to hume kafi khushi milti hai’.
