Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Rahul Dravid met Garry Sobers in a rare meet and greet as the legend inspected the practice of the Indians for the upcoming bilateral affair with the Caribbean

When it comes to iconic cricket names, Sir Garfield Sobers or who is dotingly known as Garry Sobers rules the roost by a fair mile. He has dictated the sport with his own brand of glistening cricket and wherever he goes, a trail of positivity follows.

As India is currently stationed in West Indies to be a part of a bilateral affair that would feature two Test matches, three ODIs and five T20Is, the players had an opportunity to meet the legendary Gary Sobers and internet was emotional seeing the greats of three different eras converge in a hallowed confluence.

While practising in Barbados for the upcoming first Test that starts on July 12th, Team India’s coach, Rahul Dravid, former Indian captain, Virat Kohli, current Indian skipper, Rohit Sharma and rising Indian opener, Shubman Gill ran into one of the finest batters of all time next to the Garfield Sobers Pavilion.

Here is how the meet and greet went between Garry Sobers and the Indian cricketers

BCCI uploaded a short clip where first Rahul Dravid introduced the young Shubman Gill to the legendary Sobers while Rohit Sharma shook hands with the Caribbean great before chiming in with a note of gratitude.

The video uploaded by BCCI witnessed Rahul Dravid initiating the conversation. The Wall introduced Shubman Gill to Sobers while the latter acknowledged with a smile on his face.

India will be playing their first Test at Windsor Park Dominica from 12th to 16th July while the second Test would be played at Queen’s Park Oval between 20th to 24th July.

This will be followed by three ODIs and three T20Is that will prepare India for the upcoming quadrennial challenge later in the year.
