Four Teams who should Target Shivam Dube in IPL 2021 Auction

The teams’ owners have announced the retained and released players before the auction. There have been several shocking names in the released list, with Shivam Dube being one of them. The team management showed exit gate to the all-rounder this time around.

Shivam Dube, though, will assuredly be picked by one of the franchises in the upcoming auction. The 27-years old is a decent all-rounder, who can hit long sixes and bowl a few overs also. Several teams are looking for such players for their squad and might spend money on Dube.

In this article, we look at the four teams that might target Shivam Dube in the auction:

1. Chennai Super Kings

The first team that might go after Shivam Dube is the MS Dhoni-led team, Chennai Super Kings. The three-times champions have released as many as six players, including the big-budget players like Kedar Jadhav and Piyush Chawla. They have a purse of 22.90 Crores left, and will look to spend some on Dube.

With the release of Kedar Jadhav and Piyush Chawla, they will be in a desperate need of a lower middle-order batsman, capable of bowling a few overs as well. Shivam Dube can be an excellent option to fill that void in the CSK setup. The slow tracks of Chepauk will suit Dube’s game as well – with both bat and ball.

2. Sunrisers Hyderabad

Sunrisers Hyderabad is another team that might bid for the all-rounder, Shivam Dube. The Orange Army has released a total of five players, including Fabian Allen. The Hyderabad-based franchise has a wallet of 10.75 Crores left, before going in the auction.

They will be in search of a middle-order batsman, who can bowl few valuable overs as well. The Mumbai-born, Shivam Dube, can do that job quite well in the Hyderabad’s squad. Hence, SRH might spend a good amount on Shivam Dube in the auction.

3. Rajasthan Royals

The third team that would have kept an eye on Shivam Dube is the last-placed team in the IPL 2020, Rajasthan Royals. They have released as many as eight players, including the batsmen Steven Smith and Robbin Uthappa. Hence, they will require a middle-order batsman, who can play well in the middle and death overs.

The Sanju Samson-led side, Rajasthan Royals, can rely on Dube regarding that area. In the Indian Premier League, he has a decent strike rate of 127.8 in the middle-overs. Hence, Shivam Dube can be an excellent option for the Rajasthan Royals in the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League.

4. Delhi Capitals

The fourth team to feature in the list is the last season finalists, Delhi Capitals. The Capitals have released six players in total, including Alex Carey and Sandeep Lamichhane. They are another team looking for a lower middle-order batsman to strengthen their squad.

Given there are not many options available in the auction, Delhi Capitals might also opt for the all-rounder, Dube. This will also add more varieties in their bowling department, given Dube can be a decent performer with the ball too. If picked, Shivam Dube can be a worthy pick and add more quality to the Capitals’ squad.
