Two opening combinations that RCB may try for IPL 2023

With less than 8 days left for the IPL, the world has started buzzing alive. The speculations are being made, the predictions are being cast and most importantly the world is coming alive in expectations of some cracking cricket that would light up the Indian arcade for the forthcoming days. Talking about the Indian cricket fans, one of the most dedicated fan bases in the country belongs to RCB.

RCB has exhausted their all possible resources and the elusive Trophy has still remained out of their reach. They have somehow been denied the final shy at glory and every time they have come close to the answer, someone has changed the question. With a couple of new faces in their ranks, they will try and change a few things in the forthcoming year and one of the major changes that would be needed is in the opening pair considering the struggles it went through last year. Here are two possible opening pairs that can make the cut for RCB.

#1 Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli

There was a major problem jn the previous year and that is Virat Kohli was out of form but this year, that equation is different. The former RCB skipper finds himself in the midst of runs and will definitely be one of the hot favourites to be a crucial element of the RCB fold. With his bat doing the talking half of RCB’s woes can go away. Hence when he starts to do wonders, give him as many balls as you can. The former CSK opener and the RCB captain was the highest scorer of the side with some late surge and he produced a handful ofc stellar knocks in the latter half of the tournament. With two Giants in your side, it is obvious that you incline yourself them to get your problems sorted.

#2 Anuj Rawat and Faf du Plessis

The Challengers did try out this opening pair but in the end it ran short of steam. However, with a passing year things change and Rajat Patidar is a living example of the same. Similarly, Anuj Rawat is raw talent and can get the wheels rolling if he gets his eyes in. He just needs a guide to show him the way. Faf can be the perfect man as he is an attacking cricketer and the fact that he can turn the game on its head with some early belligerence will give time to Anuj Rawat to settle down and bring out the heavy artillery.
