Mumbai Indians had a great going as they were battling hard to stave away the Punjab Kings in a high-scoring encounter and despite a late lunge, all of it crumbled down for the 5-time defending champions when Arshdeep Singh punched heroically above his weight to claim a four-fer out of which two scalps saw the middle-stump being broken into half.
It was another powerful punch from Cameron Green who led the charge for the Indians while there was terrific support from Suryakumar Yadav while Tim David tried desperately to stay on his feet, rocking Punjab till the very end.
Unfortunately, with things going south before you could anticipate, Mumbai Indians were handed another defeat. In order to keep things in perspective as the league is still to cross the halfway mark, here are a couple of changes that Mumbai Indians may try and incorporate for the next game.
#1 Riley Meredith in place of Jason Behrendorff for Mumbai Indians
Australian fast bowler, Riley Meredith had a bit of a knock that saw Behrendorff continuing his fine run. However, on closer inspection one would obviously side with Riley Meredith in order to produce the desired wickets considering his ability to get the ball drifting towards both ends.
Meredith is a wicket-taker and help Mumbai keep in the hunt instead of Jason Behrendorff who has extremities following suit. There are occasions where he goes all guns blazing and while there are instances when he is being smashed, slammed and being shown the exit to the ropes more than you would imagine.
#2 Vishnu Vinod in place of Nehal Wadhera
Nehal Wadhera was in good touch against RCB in the opening fixture but since then in the two games that he has batted, things have gone south for the youngster. It is expected that he may be given the axe for the upcoming game.
Vishnu Vinod is a proven batter in the domestic circuit and would provide better support to the highly-talented Mumbai Indians side considering his experience and his eye for the big shots particularly in the latter half of the game.
