Two changes that KKR must make for the upcoming fixture in IPL 2023

KKR is stuck in a losing rut and with every passing game the void gets a lot deeper

The Kolkata Knight Riders keep on slumping and it feels as if there is no reprieve for them at the moment. In another chapter of woe, KKR slumped down to CSK in a high-scoring encounter where the latter went good and went far but the former, being the host had challenges getting into the groove itself.

Jason Roy was the solitary beacon of hope while Rinku Singh could manage to hang in the center long enough to fire to another half-century but the push wasn’t enough as KKR fell short of the finish line by a staggering 49 runs that not only saw them drop further down the points table but also take a huge hit with the net run rate aspect. Here are two changes that KKRA can make for the upcoming IPL fixture.

#1 Lockie Ferguson in place of Sunil Narine for KKR

Sunil Narine has been devastatingly inconsistent in the ongoing edition of the tournament with the lows being on a lot more frequent as the Caribbean spinner has been hammered left right and center.

With his batting flair also not producing the desired impact, Lockie Ferguson would at least be a better pacer in the bowling unit. He is also a wicket-taker and his brutal pace can be a real good boost for the Knights. There is a reason why he needs to be a part of the team.

#2 Shardul Thakur in place of Kulwant Khejroilya

With a lag in the batting unit, the Knights have been challenged to get the required support in the low end after a poor show in the middle-order. With the presence of Shardul Thakur at least they can hope to try and get some batting support.

Shardul is also an experienced campaigner and his presence in the side means that their team actually has someone to look forward to when the pump calls coming.
