IPL has always been a cradle of impressive youngsters making the cut for the big showdown. Mumbai Indians has a particular knack of hammering away at the big names and discovering local talent. One such talent secured them a significant total on the cards and that was none other than Tilak Varma.
From the very brink of what could have been a near collapse for MI, Tilak Varma stood in front of a swashbuckling RCB bowling line-up despite missing out on three of their big names featuring the likes of Wanindu Hasaranga, Josh Hazelwood and most importantly Reece Topley who started on a swashbuckling note.
As Mumbai Indians teetered along dangerously, it was a young Tilak Varma who led the show from the very front when the big guns failed and took on the RCB bowlers head on. Despite the wickets tumbling at the other end, Tilak Varma kept his calm and eventually managed to help his team going forward.
From 124 for 7 the Mumbai Indians managed to pile up a staggering 171 on the scorecard with the Challengers struggling to find their footing with their strike bowler back in the hunt due to the shoulder injury that they had up their sleeve.
