India and Pakistan are currently locking horns in the opener of Group B at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Stadium (MCG). The atmosphere in the match has been enthralling but it has been the Rohit Sharma-led side who were on the top in first innings.
One of the key reasons for India having a sensational first inning in the game was left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh. The Punjab-born-fast bowler bowled sensationally well with the new ball and made a mockery of the Pakistan batters.
He took India off the flyer as he removed both Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan in his first two overs to set the tone for his side. If this was not enough, Arshdeep then came to bowl towards the fag end and removed Asif Ali as well.
Arshdeep returned with the figures of 3/32 and helped his side restrict Pakistan to a total of 159 runs at MCG. He was complimented well by Hardik Pandya, Mohammad Shami and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who took 5 wickets between them.
