“The Way Tripathi Took Up The Responsibility Was Good To Watch” : Matthew Hayden Hails The Batting Approach Of Rahul Tripathi

After the match-winning performance by Rahul Tripathi against Mumbai Indians, former Australian opener Mathew Hayden lauded his pragmatic batting style in the game. In a victorious game for Sunrisers Hyderabad, Tripathi has scored 76(44) after hitting 9 fours and 3 sixes with a thumping strike rate of 172.73. He is among few guys who always loves to play horizontal on the front foot which is gradually becoming a trademark of his batting. The Mumbaikar batter debuted from the side of KKR in the year 2017, from where he played 75 games and scored 1778-runs with an average of 28.30. Thus, Hayden has manifested the strong points in the batting of Rahul Tripathi after their victorious match.

“The way Tripathi took up the responsibility was good to watch”.

When asked Hayden on Star Sports about the phonetic batting approach of Rahul Tripathi he said, “The way Tripathi took up the responsibility was good to watch. I think he has got some real potential in the future to go all the way at the international level. He is someone that is a dangerous striker of the ball, he can hit both sides of the wicket. In particular, what impresses the most is his ability to play short-pitched bowling. I mean getting to Australia, let’s just take the liberty to say that’s where it is, not saying he will be picked, but he has the game on bouncy wickets”.

Later he attached that, “I love his ability to upfront so hard. I think that’s what has been really missing inside the SRH batting line-up. That powerplay is so significant. especially when the wickets are getting slower, so the first six overs, you have to make use of it. It was a really good leadership decision as well to get back down the order”, Hayden told Star Sports.
