The covid positive Indian skipper Rohit Sharma has finally opened up on India’s crushing defeat in the Edgbaston test match against England. The side of England made the record chase of 378 runs to hand India a loss which poured water on their dreams of 2nd test series victory on the soil of England. In the first innings where India was closing on the score of 416 and they also successfully outbow the team of England on just the figures of 284.
But as the game went on two third and fourth days of the test match the tide of India’s victory started to shift on the England side when they came back in the second innings by clinching all 10 wickets of India on just a score of 245. But the target was too big for the England side and there was requisite of Daddy hundred from at least one or two players and that is the same thing has occurred as Alex Lees and Zak Crawley has given a superb start which is later on capitalized by the centuries of Jonny Bairstow and Joe Root.
After the results of the test match, India lost two crucial points in the points table of the world test championship which resulted in the team slipping to the fourth spot in the table. As a result when the reporters asked the Skipper Rohit Sharma about the horrifying results of the Edgbaston test match then he opened up on it by saying, “It’s obviously disappointing to not come out as victors. The Test series was for India to win. That said, time will tell whether that loss will have any impact in the T20I and ODI series against England”.
“That was a different format and this will be a different one,” Rohit Sharma who missed the rescheduled COVID-delayed Test after contracting the viral infection”.
