The final day of the Super 12 stage of the T20 World Cup will happen on Sunday. Pakistan, despite the losses to India and Zimbabwe, is still in the race. However, some of the fans are expecting too much from the team and other teams, as well. Here, we take a look as Twitter reacts to Pakistan journalist’s confidence that no one can stop Pakistan from winning T20 WC if they qualify for the semi-finals.
Pakistan has a tough job reaching the semi-finals
Pakistan came close to winning the first game against India. However, a Virat Kohli special meant that Pakistan lost the game by a whisker. While the Babar Azam-led squad was expected to do well in the next games, that did not happen. They lost to Zimbabwe and that put a break to the team’s chances. Nevertheless, the team still has a chance to reach the knockout stage. While they must defeat Bangladesh, they would want one of India or South Africa to lose their match.
It has to be noted that while India plays Zimbabwe on Sunday, South Africa’s opponent will be the Netherlands. The likely outcome, based on the teams, is surely against Pakistan. At the same time, the team must beat Bangladesh. The Shakib Al Hasan-led team did well against India and was almost winning the game, if not for the rain break. Hence, they will also be a tough opponent for Pakistan.
Twitter reacts to the Pak journalist’s post
Meanwhile, a journalist based out of Pakistan claimed that if the team reaches the semis, no one can stop them from winning the tournament. The tweet looked over-confident and users wasted no time in trolling the journalist. Some of them were hilarious reactions. Here are a few of them:
