“That is so unprofessional” – Twitterati takes a dig at Virendra Sehwag for his remarks on Virat Kohli
In ongoing India vs England Test, Virat Kohli was seen just being himself while he was dancing on the field when the former cricketer Virendra Sehwag ‘insulted’ him on-air as he was heard saying “Chhamiya naach rahi hai“. Kohli’s fans didn’t like this at all and were rightly so, absolutely rattled.
Sehwag was doing Hindi commentary for the match and his words didn’t go well with the fans which sparked a bomb on Twitter and it exploded with innumerable trolls for Sehwag and people showing their discomfort and anger over the remark.
Here are some Twitter reactions-
This happened when Siraj bowled Sam Billings out just after he had played his cameo for a 36 off 57 balls, and had given the English line-up some rhythm for the game that proceeded ahead.
When Siraj bowled out Billings, this is when Sehwag was heard saying this. The fans even started to body-shame Sehwag and were hurtful saying this is so ‘distasteful and disgraceful’ coming from a former cricketer and legend than Sehwag.
What a disgrace this takla @virendersehwag is.. behaving like a random troll on TVpic.twitter.com/SrNkLWwLlb

#Sehwag has made the standards of Indian Cricket Commentary very low.. as if #Akashchopra was not enough.
Why can't there be more people like @bhogleharsha @RaviShastriOfc and #Gavaskar
After that 'chamiya' comment yesterday he calls Anderson 'Bujurg' today. @vikrantgupta73— Nilesh Tripathi (@nileshtripathi5) July 4, 2022

Hindi commentary has never been about cricket. It's not the language, but the reason that I have never liked listening to it is because it's that bad. Only Harsha or Aakash are bearable https://t.co/Ht2PDXxDvG

Sehwag used a slur that’s offensive. It’s not about who he said it to, it’s that the word he used is derogatory to a community that deserves just as much respect and fair treatment in society as any Kohli does. See the bigger picture and don’t protect him because he’s a legend https://t.co/bauvXiLE58

Another day, another instance of normalising the non-savoury speakable on formal platforms. Gone are the days when we could prescribe young students to listen to commentary and news debates to cultivate their vocabulary. https://t.co/DU8v67SWRW

Sehwag doesn't know what to speak and what not to. Very unprofessional @SonySportsNetwk @BCCI @jatinsapru @cricketaakash @mufaddal_vohra @ImTanujSingh https://t.co/GtRHPnjrZ9

India bowled out for 284 runs and had a 132-run lead which has now been extended to 368. India will be looking to at least stretch the lead close to around 400 and then leave it on our beast bowling attack to get the job done.
