“Thank You Virat” – Shane Warne lauds Virat Kohli and Team India for their fantastic display at The Oval

Former Australian cricket team leg-spinner Shane Warne has heaped praise on the Indian cricket team and the captain Virat Kohli after their excellent performance against the England cricket team in the fourth Test of their ICC World Test Championship series. The Kennington Oval in London played host to this match.

Many expected that the England cricket team would take a 2-1 lead in the fourth Test match. However, the Indian cricket team did not happen. One of the key reasons where the England cricket team were the favorites to win the Test match was because they had bulldozed the Indian cricket team in the previous game. Also, England won the toss and bowled India out for 191 runs in the first innings.

Rohit Sharma, Shardul Thakur and Jasprit Bumrah set up India’s incredible comeback

It would be wrong to say that only one player inspired the comeback of the Indian cricket team in the Kennington Oval Test match. But obviously fans can point out that the trio of Shardul Thakur, Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah were the top performers. Sharma notched up his maiden Test hundred outside India, while Thakur scored 50+ in both innings and chipped in with some crucial wickets.

Fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah bowled a game-changing spell in the second innings of the England cricket team. Even Cheteshwar Pujara, Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja played their parts well. It goes without saying that the Indian cricket team is the best in Tests now.

Shane Warne praises Virat Kohli and co.

Of late, the cricket fans have seen that some big names retire from Tests early so that they can play the shorter formats of the game for a longer period. However, Virat Kohli has always preferred Test cricket, and for that Shane Warne praised him. Shane Warne was quoted as saying to Sky Sports:

“I think the way Virat conducts himself, we’ve all got to say, ‘Thank You Virat’. He loves Test cricket and he’s made it a priority. India is a powerhouse in world cricket and you’ve got the biggest superstar in the planet, Virat Kohli, saying Test cricket is important, we’re going to Australia and win and we’re going to England and win.”
