“I Don’t Think Kohli Can Make A Comeback”- Fans Remember Mohammad Asif’s Old Interview About Virat After He Gets Out For Golden Duck

The 31st match of the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League happened yesterday night at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, where the Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated the Lucknow Super Giants by 18 runs. RCB received an invitation to bat first. Fans expected a top knock from their former captain Virat Kohli. However, he got out for a golden duck. Soon after, fans shared an old interview of Mohammad Asif on Twitter.

Many members of the cricket universe would remember that Asif is a former Pakistan cricket team fast bowler whose career derailed after he was caught in a fixing scandal. While the end to his career was not the best, he did earn most players’ respect with his pace bowling, variations, skills and accuracy.

Some fans have reckoned him as one of the most underrated players in Pakistan cricket history. Mohammad Asif gave his views on Virat Kohli last year and said that he has been scoring so many runs because of his fitness. He predicted that once his decline starts, he will find it difficult to make a comeback:

“Kohli is a bottom-hand player. He is doing well because of his fitness and it is supporting him. The moment he will face a decline, I don’t think Kohli can make a comeback.”

Mohammad Asif gave his opinion on the Virat Kohli vs Sachin Tendulkar

There is always a debate amongst fans as to who is the greatest batter between Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar. Some say Virat, the others say Sachin. Asif said Virat is nowhere close to Sachin.

“People say Kohli is better than Tendulkar. I say no. Virat does not even come close to Sachin. This is my opinion,” he added while speaking in an interview on Cover Drive YouTube channel.

Kohli is currently experiencing a dip in his form. It will be interesting to see if he can make a comeback soon.
