The International Cricket Council (ICC) is known for awarding the best-performing players for each calendar year. The game has seen several cricketers living up to their reputation in 2022.

As the calendar year comes to a close, the ICC has now named four nominees for ICC T20 cricketer of the year. Earlier, the ICC named four nominees for the Emerging Player award 2022.

They are none other than India’s Arshdeep Singh, South Africa’s Marco Jansen, Afghanistan’s Ibrahim Zadran and New Zealand’s Finn Allen. The aforementioned names have delivered the goods ever so well for their teams.

Now, talking about the four nominees for the T20 cricketer of the year 2022, one player from India, England, Pakistan and Zimbabwe made it to the nominees’ list.

They are none other than Suryakumar Yadav, Sam Curran, Mohammad Rizwan and Sikandar Raza. India’s flamboyant batsman Suryakumar Yadav has scored 1408 runs in 42 T20Is at an average of 44.

He has slammed two centuries and twelve fifties to his name in the truncated version. The star batsman who holds the numero uno spot in the ICC Men’s T20I player rankings scored 1164 runs in 31 games this year.

Sam Curran was recently named the player of the tournament for bagging 13 wickets in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022. The England international scored 67 runs and bagged 25 wickets in 19 T20Is.

On the other hand, Pakistan’s wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan scored 996 runs, took nine catches and then affected three stumping in 25 games. Notably, Rizwan has slammed as many as ten fifties this year and has a spectacular batting average of 48.8.

Zimbabwe international Sikandar Raza made a name for himself in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 where he scored 219 runs in the showpiece event. Notably, he has scored 735 runs and bagged as many as 25 wickets in 24 matches in 2022.
