Siddarth Kaul reacts after being ignored for Sri Lanka tour

Former U-19 World Cup winner Siddarth Kaul has reacted to the Indian team’s squad announcement for the upcoming Sri Lankan tour. Siddarth Kaul is one of the top right-arm fast bowlers in the country right now. However, the selection committee did not pick him for the upcoming series against Sri Lanka.

In case you didn’t know, the Indian cricket team is set to tour Sri Lanka to play three T20Is and three ODIs in the month of July. The primary members of the Indian white-ball squad will be in England during the Sri Lankan tour. Hence, the BCCI had to go with a second-string squad.

The selectors named star opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan as the team’s captain, while Bhuvneshwar Kumar is the vice-captain. Experienced players namely Hardik Pandya and Manish Pandey are also a part of the squad. However, Siddarth Kaul missed out.

The fast bowler posted a tweet after he missed out on a spot. Here’s what Kaul wrote:

“I have failed over and over again in my life and that is why I succeed. And when I fail I have the smile on my face which motivates me work even harder.”

Siddarth Kaul ignored, but BCCI names strong second-string squad for Sri Lanka series

Although Siddarth Kaul could not gain a place in the Indian squad for the Sri Lankan series, several other youngsters got a place. Chetan Sakariya received a place in the Indian squad for the first time. Here is the full squad:
