Schedule of Asia Cup 2022 creates possibility of three India Vs Pakistan games on back to back weekends

Asia Cup 2022 has been shifted from Sri Lanka to UAE because of political turmoil in Sri Lanka

Asia Cup 2022 T20 tournament has been shifted from Sri Lanka to UAE because of the political turmoil in Sri Lanka and it will get underway on the 27th of August in Dubai. The schedule of the tournament was released yesterday and the schedule seems to have been prepared in such a way that it creates the possibility of India Vs Pakistan games on three back-to-back Sundays.

There will be 6 teams participating in the tournament which have been divided into two groups of three teams each. While Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan have been kept in group B, India and Pakistan have been kept in group A with a qualifier team.

Whatever the result of the India Vs Pakistan group game in the Asia Cup might be, it’s highly likely that both teams will be able to advance to the next round of the tournament, which is the Super 4 round, as both of them can be expected to beat the qualifier team.

The Super 4 round in the Asia Cup won’t be like a conventional semi-final round, where the topper of one group will play the second positioned team of the other group and vice-versa.

All 4 teams will play against each other in the Super 4 round of the Asia Cup

In the Super 4 round, the four teams will be playing three games, one against each team in the Super 4, and then the teams, which will be occupying the top two positions in the Super 4 points table, will qualify for the final of the tournament.

The A1 Vs A2 super 4 games have also been scheduled on a Sunday, as it has been expected to be the second India Vs Pakistan game in the tournament. And, then since India and Pakistan are two of the strongest teams in Asia at the moment, they both are expected to occupy the top 2 positions in the Super 4 round as well and qualify for the final, which again is scheduled on Sunday.

I write a bit on cricket and I am more interested in technical and tactical side of the game, rather than bravado.
