‘No One Seems To Know How To Bowl To This Guy Now’-Sanjay Manjrekar Names One Batter Who Is Unbeatable For The Bowlers Currently

Sanjay Manjrekar thinks that none of the bowlers in the world of white-ball cricket can match Suryakumar Yadav‘s all-around game right now.

In the last T20I against England, Suryakumar hit 117 runs off just 55 balls, but it wasn’t enough to win. The middle-order batter will try to do the same thing in the first ODI against the same team, which will be played on Tuesday, July 12 at The Oval.

What did Manjrekar say about Suryakumar Yadav?

During an interview on Sports 18, Manjrekar praised Suryakumar’s knock at Trent Bridge, saying things like:

“It was a memorable hundred for many reasons, including the strike rate, the quality of the innings, and the fact that no bowler in the world can beat Suryakumar Yadav today. No one seems to know how to bowl to this guy.”

The former Indian batter said that the fact that his fellow Mumbaikar got a standing ovation from the crowd in England showed how good his innings were. Manjrekar told us:

“You saw the standing ovation he got, not so much from the Indian fans as from the English fans, and you take that into account. England cricket fans are very unique in that if they see a good play, they don’t care as much if their team loses. The fact that they stood up to Suryakumar Yadav showed just how great he was.”

Suryakumar has said that he has never been given such a farewell in all of his years as a cricket player. Jos Buttler and the other England players had a lot of good things to say about the 31-year-old’s inning.

Sanjay Manjrekar on Suryakumar Yadav’s comparison with AB de Villiers

Manjrekar was asked if it was too early to compare Suryakumar to AB de Villiers in his prime. He told:

“This point you brought up is very interesting because when Vivian Richards batted in limited-overs cricket in the 1970s or 1980s, the rest of the world had a strike rate of 60 to 70, but Viv was 90.”

The former cricket player who is now an analyst thinks that the Mumbai Indians (MI) player is not the same as Mr. 360. Manjrekar reasoned:

“The way AB de Villiers batted in the next phase showed that he was a batsman of the future. So it will be much easier for someone to be like AB de Villiers in 2022 because white-ball cricket changes so quickly. So I don’t think it’s fair to compare them because AB did that many years ago what Surya is doing now.”

On Sunday, Suryakumar Yadav, who is often called India’s answer to De Villiers, hit 14 fours and 6 sixes during his knock. When he hit a couple of sixes over point against the pacers, they were stunned.
