Sandeep Warrier receives his maiden T20I cap yesterday. He is a right-arm fast bowler from Kerala who had been working hard for years. In the IPL, Warrier earned contracts from the Royal Challengers Bangalore and the Kolkata Knight Riders. However, he could not receive consistent opportunities to prove his talent.
Warrier was one of the three cricketers born in Kerala to feature in the Indian playing XI for the third T20I against the Sri Lankan cricket team. The other two were wicket-keeper Sanju Samson and top-order batsman Devdutt Padikkal. Unfortunately, Warrier had a forgettable debut.
The Indian cricket team batted for 20 overs and scored only 81 runs at the loss of eight wickets. The bowlers did not have enough runs to defend. While Rahul Chahar tried to make a match out it by scalping three wickets, none of the other Indian bowlers could dismiss the batsmen of the Sri Lankan cricket team.
Speaking of Sandeep Warrier’s performance, the debutant bowled three overs, conceding 23 runs. Although he could not make an impact on his T20I debut for the Indian men’s cricket team, his teammate Nitish Rana’s wife Saachi Marwah sent a message to him after his first game.

Star all-rounder Nitish Rana was disappointed after a failure on the Sri Lankan tour. Playing his debut international series, Rana could not play a big knock for the Indian cricket team. However, his wife Saachi Marwah and teammate Sandeep Warrier tried to motivate him.
Saachi even replied to the comment from Sandeep Warrier as she congratulated him on his T20I debut and wrote: “Congratulations Sandyyy” with four emojis following it. Sandeep is yet to reply to the message from Saachi Marwah. You can see the screenshot from the comments box right here:
