Delhi Capitals’ opening batsman Prithvi Shaw is one of the brightest talents in India. The right-handed batsman is known for his aggressive approach and is best known for scoring runs at a rate of knots.
Just like any young player, he too faced some challenges in his career. For the record, he had a brief suspension in 2019 owing to a doping violation. He did make a strong comeback in the Ranji Trophy.
Notably, he has been intensely working on improving his batting skills and consistency. His talent and potential helped him earn recognition as one of the most talented cricketers in Indian cricket.
With his attacking instinct and his ability to score quickly, he has the potential to make a telling impact in international cricket in the years to come. However, he totally switched off in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League.
Prithvi Shaw makes a terrific comeback, scores his first fifty in IPL 2023
Shaw failed to live up to his reputation as a batsman and he came under fire for his terrible batting performances. In the wake of his bad form, he was taken off the playing XI.
However, he ensured to let his bat do the talking in the ongoing game against the Punjab Kings at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamsala.
He scored his first half-century in IPL 2023 and although it’s too late, it’s good for him and it will help him boost his confidence levels. He scored 54 off 38 balls including seven fours and a six against PBKS.
