“Prince of Chennai Super Kings!”, Twitter bows down to Ruturaj Gaikwad after a swashbuckling display

Ruturaj Gaikwad sets fire to Gujarat with a blistering 92

Just when the game started there were a lot of talks about how Ruturaj Gaikwad would be trying to come back into the Chennai Super Kings after somewhat of a reticent 2022 where he could only manage 360 runs, an anagram of his brilliant 630 in the 2021 season where he played a crucial role alongside the big name of Faf du Plessis to help Chennai get the title.

Things started on a bumpy note for dthe Chennai Super Kings as Mohammed Shami razed through the defences of Devon Conway while Rashid Khan bagged a couple of wickets to leave the Yellow army in blue funk. However, it was the youngster, Ruturaj Gaikwad who was back to his elements to try and push back the Gujarat bowling attack.

From taking on the might of the world’s finest to the one who still holds the best bowling figures in the antiquity of IPL, Alzarri Joseph to keeping Rashid Khan at bay for further infringements, the CSK opener was in absolute blistering form as he kept on hacking away the bowlers.

Albeit losing wickets at regular intervals, he managed to hang in the center and started playing a flurry of exquisite strokes in order to get the wheels rolling. With very little support from the other end, Gaikwad decided to throw metal to the pedal as the runs started coming in cascade with no real answer whatsoever.

Here is what Twitter had to say about Ruturaj Gaikwad

With all the big names in the hut, it was surprisingly Ruturaj Gaikwad who would go onto deliver the payload in the most significant fashion, bringing forth, the heat, the fire and the fury. He would often clear his legs and hand over a whacking to the opposition. Twitter was absolutely ecstatic as he managed to put up a fine show of 92 from just 49 balls and left no stones unturned in lauding him.
