“Breaks for coaches, players…how about resting the whole team?”, Twitter reacts as Ravi Shastri indirectly questions head coach Rahul Dravid for taking break

Team India ran through a heartbreaking defeat at the hands of the England national cricket team in the second semi-final at Adelaide Oval in Adelaide as England beat Team India by 10 wickets.

Billions of people across India were literally heartbroken after seeing their team losing to England in a disappointing manner. Meanwhile, Indian players are currently in New Zealand to play a white-ball assignment.

India will play three Twenty20 Internationals followed by three One-Day Internationals in New Zealand. The first T20I between both the teams will go all guns blazing from November 18 (Friday) in Wellington.

Meanwhile, India’s head coach Rahul Dravid has been rested for the upcoming tour of New Zealand. National Cricket Academy head VVS Laxman will serve as the acting head coach for the New Zealand assignment.

Ravi Shastri says he doesn’t believe in breaks for support staff

Meanwhile, former Indian head coach Ravi Shastri added that he doesn’t really believe in breaks for support staff just because they get two months of rest during two months of the cash-rich Indian Premier League.

Ravi Shastri further added that if he was the coach, he would want to see his boys closely all the time. Shastri’s comments went viral after Rahul Dravid took a break for the upcoming assignment against New Zealand.

Meanwhile, the likes of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have also been rested for the upcoming assignments against New Zealand. Hardik Pandya has been named the stand-in skipper for the three-match T20I series.

On the other side of the coin, Shikhar Dhawan has been named the captain for the three-match ODI series. The last time when India toured New Zealand, the Men in Blue inflicted a 5-0 whitewash on New Zealand.
