“Perfect example of salt on the burn”, Twitter reacts after Team India have been fined 80% of the match fee for slow over-rate in the first ODI

The Men in Blue led by Rohit Sharma ran through a major upset after surrendering at the hands of the Bangladesh cricket team in the first of the three-match ODI series at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Rawalpindi.

Rohit Sharma and Co were totally deceived by the way Bangladeshi bowlers applied their tactics. Among the bowlers, Shakib Al Hasan ripped through the defence of India’s batting line-up with such ease.

The experienced all-rounder bagged his fourth five-wicket haul. In contrast, Ebadot Hossain accounted for 4 dismissals as Team India posted a low-scoring total of 186 runs at the expense of all the 10 wickets.

In response, Litton Das and Co did manage to get off to a pretty decent start. However, as the overs progressed, Indian bowlers made a stellar comeback into the game by taking the majority of the wickets.

The venue of the game is Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka. For the unversed, the last time when India toured Bangladesh for the ODI series, MS Dhoni was the captain. Under his captaincy, India lost the ODI series by 2-1.
