After getting out to a false shot in Indore Test Australia, Shubman Gill made sure that he makes the most of the opportunity in the fourth Test as he went on to score his second century in Test cricket.
Opening the batting, Gill showed great grit and courage as he batted sensibly and along with the solid defensive technique, he punished bad balls as well. He looked very solid as he rearily mistimed the ball.
After skipper Rohit Sharma got out for 35, Gill took matters into his own hands as he then batted aggressively and paved his way through his sixth Test half-century. However, he didn’t let the milestone carry him away as he batted with a lot of concentration and smashed some staggering boundaries as well.
Gill smashed a century in just 194 balls with the help of 10 fours and 1 six. Notably, this innings by him will make his case strong for the opening position in the team. He after scoring a century in Bangladesh was rested for the first three games against Australia.
