Babar Azam reminds Pakistan not to get too excited after beating India

Babar Azam led Pakistan to their first ever victory in a World Cup game over India

After beating India for the first time ever in a World Cup, the Pakistan captain Babar Azam has reminded his teammates that beating India was not their final goal. The final goal is to win the World Cup. So, while they should celebrate this extraordinary triumph against India, they should not get overexcited.

Babar insisted on the fact that there have been occasions in the past when Pakistan has lost their focus after winning one game and they need to change that habit because it’s only the start of the tournament and Pakistan has to play a big game only a day after tomorrow against New Zealand.

Babar Azam himself led from the front in the game against India as he opened the batting with the wicketkeeper batsman Mohammad Rizwan and chased down the target set by India without losing a single wicket.

Babar Azam scored a half century in the successful chase against India

Babar and Rizwan, both scored a half century each and while the dew in the second innings helped the ball skid onto the bat, the credit can’t be taken away from them for the fact that they displayed exceptional skills and temperament under pressure and dragged Pakistan over the line.

As things stand in T20 World Cup right now, Pakistan has now got themselves in a really strong position in the second group by winning the game against India. If they win against New Zealand too, then it might turn the India Vs New Zealand game into a virtual quarter final.

However, if Pakistan lose against New Zealand and India beat New Zealand, then it might come down to the Net Run Rate at the end of the group stage.

Pakistan Vs New Zealand game will also have a lot of passion involved this time around, given the fact that the Pakistani team is more than keen to beat New Zealand after they withdrew from the tour of Pakistan last month.
