Former Indian cricketer Parthiv Patel has picked the two players who can be the future stars of the Indian Premier League (IPL). He said that Umran Malik of Sunrisers Hyderabad and Tilak Varma of Mumbai Indians can take the league forward and can be the leaders as well.
“Someone who is quick and bowling well,” Parthiv Patel says Umran Malik can be a superstar
Umran rose into the ranks after his sheer pace surprised many during the IPL 2022. His ability to bowl 150 kmph consistently impressed one and all and it also troubled many batters.
Not only did Umran impress many with his pace, but he also was the strike bowler for his team and took 22 wickets in the tournament, the fourth-highest in this season. His heroics made him debut for India in white-ball cricket and has been doing reasonably well.

Termed as the ‘exciting prospect’ Umran Malik took the cricket fraternity by storm with his express pace during the IPL 2022. He clocked the second-fastest delivery in the league (157kmph). He will play an important role for SRH in the IPL 2023 and will be the mainstay of their bowling lineup.
In a discussion on Jio Cinema, Parthiv Patel picked Umran Malik as a future star. He said: “Umran Malik. Someone who is quick and bowling well and he has already played for India but yeah I think he can be a superstar.”
“He also has an ability to lead a side,” Parthiv Patel touts Tilak Varma as the future superstar of the IPL
In what has been a horrendous season for MI in 2022, Tilak Varma has emerged as the biggest positive for the five-time champions. While every MI batter has struggled at some stage, the southpaw looked the most settled batter in their lineup.
The 19-year-old was the leading run-getter for MI last season, with 397 runs to his name at an average and strike rate of 36.09 and 131.02 respectively. He also has scored three-half centuries with 61 being his best score.

Patel feels that Varma will be another future superstar. He added: “Batting wise, having seen Tilak Verma in a couple of years. I had the opportunity to scout and back him and a kind of cricketer he has become. He also has an ability to lead a side, so, I think he can be a future leader.”
Tilak Varma is also expected to play a huge role for Mumbai Indians this year. The IPL 2023 will start from 31st March. Mumbai Indians will open their campaign against Royal Challengers Bangalore on 2nd April.
