“Pakistan doesn’t have players like Suryakumar and Hardik, no point criticising their conservative approach,” Nasser Hussain reveals why he criticises India’s conservative T20 approach, but not Pakistan’s
Both India and Pakistan put underpar scores on the board while batting first in the knockout round of the recently finished T20 World Cup
The former England captain Nasser Hussain has provided an explanation for his comments on India and Pakistan regarding the brand of cricket that they play. Recently during the knockout round of the T20 World Cup of 2022, Hussain had a go at India’s conservative brand of cricket at the top of the order, but he wasn’t severe on Pakistan who also plays the same type of cricket in the batting powerplay.
Nasser Hussain addressed this issue while speaking on Sky Sports recently and said that he saw a lot of people talking on Twitter that Hussain only criticizes India’s conservative brand of cricket and not Pakistan’s.
Hussain criticizes India because he can clearly see India has got players who can play modern-day T20 cricket and can excel at it. But Pakistan doesn’t have players like Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya who can help them change their brand of cricket with the bat.
Pakistan bowlers can defend par or under par scores, Indian bowlers can’t: Nasser Hussain
Nasser Hussain also stressed the fact that Pakistan has got a bowling attack that can defend a par score and sometimes even an under-par score, but that’s not the case with India. India has to put over-par scores on the board all the time whenever they bat first and they are fully capable to do so. They just need someone in the top hierarchy to ask them to play freely without worrying about their wickets.
Nasser Hussain "Pakistan don't have players like Suryakumar Yadav & Hardik Pandya. Pakistan follows the old school technic in T20Is too. Pakistan have the best bowling line-up. So, if they get par score, even less than par, they are still in the game" #PAKvENG #INDvNZ #PAKvsENG pic.twitter.com/sE0Yfk3zwX

In the semi-final match of the T20 World Cup 2022 against England, India scored just 60 odd in the first 10 overs of the innings while batting first and they had lost just two wickets during that period. It was the Hardik Pandya blitz which eventually took them to a respectable total of 168, but slow batting in the first 10 overs still costed them the game eventually.
