“Not Finished”- Mohammad Kaif Backs Finisher MS Dhoni To Have A Good IPL 2022 Season

Former Indian cricket team batter Mohammad Kaif gave his honest views on the former Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni, and what he feels about his game in IPL 2022. Dhoni has played three matches in the new season of the Indian Premier League so far.

The right-handed batter scored 66 runs in the first two matches. He scored a half-century against the Kolkata Knight Riders in the first match of IPL 2022 and followed it up with a six-ball 16* against the Lucknow Super Giants.

Speaking to Sportskeeda ahead of the Chennai Super Kings’ IPL battle against the Punjab Kings yesterday, Mohammad Kaif talked about MS Dhoni and said:

“Dhoni is not finished, he is a finisher. People have said his time his over and this could be his last IPL, but look at how he has batted, remaining not-out in both innings. This year we might see the Dhoni that we knew who used to start hitting boundaries from ball one.”

Mohammad Kaif says MS Dhoni will bat in a free flow during IPL 2022 matches

During the same show, Mohammad Kaif added that since MS Dhoni has left the captaincy of the Chennai Super Kings team, the fans will witness him in full flow this year.

Dhoni did well for the Chennai Super Kings in the first two matches, but he was not at his best in the match against the Punjab Kings last night. Dhoni came out to bat when the Chennai Super Kings were down to 36/5 in a run-chase of 181 runs.

He built a good partnership with Shivam Dube for the sixth wicket, where Dube scored a half-century. However, Dhoni could not accelerate. He scored 10 runs off his first 20 balls and then returned to the pavilion with 23 runs to his name from 28 balls. Rahul Chahar became the first bowler to dismiss Dhoni in IPL this year.
