As the Indian Premier League franchises are hot on the heels of superstars to replace their current ones as the second phase of the tournament is all set to kickstart from 19th September with a blockbuster clash between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings, RCB made some impressive signings to stun the cricketing roster.
With Adam Zampa being uncertain about the remainder of the tournament, RCB was desperate to rope in a spinner in his place and they got their hands on India’s tormentor-in-chief in the recently concluded T20 series with Sri Lanka, Wanindu Hasaranga.
The leg-spinner chronicled figures of 4 for 9, 2 for 28 and 3 for 37 against India that set a few eyes on him. After an intense tug-of-war, the Challengers were finally able to land Hasaranga in place of Zampa.
Dusmantha Chameera, another impressive moniker for Sri Lanka in the series against India has also been roped in by Royal Challengers Bangalore and as per the latest update on Instagram will be replacing the likes of Daniel Sams.
Another impressive name in the T20 circuit has also been boarded by the Challengers as Tim David replaced the likes of Finn Allen. He is a hard-hitting batsman and can also prise out a couple of decent overs.
Simon Katich has been replaced by RCB for Mike Hesson
Despite a rollicking first half in the IPL, Mike Hesson will be taking over the mantle from Simon Katich for the second chapter of the tournament. Simon Katich led RCB to a major revamp with the team coming out in flying colours in 2020 and pulling off a phenomenal showdown in 2021.
Hesson has previously served Kings XI Punjab as the head coach and was later appointed by RCB as their director of operations. He did a decent job for Bangalore until now and will be leading the team for the remainder of the tournament. Bangalore is currently in the third spot with 5 victories from 7 matches.
