Test cricket is often referred to as the purest format of the game. Playing a Test match is every cricketer’s dream and not everyone gets a direct entry to represent the country in the longest format of the game, especially in India.
There are several cricketers who couldn’t get an opportunity to play Tests for a long period of time. The ones who have produced consistent performances every now and then have cemented their spot in the Test team.
Among the active cricketers, Virat Kohli is the only player in the Indian squad who has played more than 100 Tests in his cricketing career. India’s experienced paceman Ishant Sharma is currently not in the scheme of things.
However, he has also played more than 100 Tests in his career. Cheteshwar Pujara who earned the tag of India’s Test specialist for his consistent performances in red-ball cricket now joined the elite list of player who have played 100 Tests

Pujara has become 13th India players to play 100 Tests for India today when he took the field against Australia.
The Saurashtra-born cricketer slammed 19 centuries and 34 half-centuries so far.
India’s batting great, Sachin Tendulkar comes first on the list in terms of the most matches played for India in Test cricket. He has played a record 200 Tests in his career and Rahul Dravid comes next on the list as he played 163 Tests.
VVS Laxman has played 134 Tests whereas the likes of Anil Kumble and Kapil Dev played 132 and 132 Tests respectively.
