In what has been the latest development as per the reports in Times of India, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) skipper Shreyas Iyer has been ruled out of the first half of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023.

This will come as a major blow for KKR as not they will lose a quality batter but also the skipper of the team. Iyer was brilliant with the bat for the team last season as he consistently scored runs and was decent as the captain as well.

Iyer complained of a back injury ahead of the Day 5 of the fourth Test against Australia in Ahmedabad and was ruled out of the game followed by the ODI series. It is learned that the back injury that has troubled him for a while has reoccurred and might take some time to heal.
